My Darkly Sage
The fading sun and the blooming moon.
The echoing darkness and the flickering flame.
One lies at peace in night's vast womb.
The other pries open a reluctant dawn.
Yawning...Yearning...Stubborn
In Night I find solace, a companion
For whom, the tedious bright hours of morning,
I waited long,
While fighting the lure of deceptive warmth
And all things bright and newborn.
The silent mystique of your cetacean blue
Wraps me in arms of obscurity.
Shrouding my reunion with the dead
Through the wispy whispering of fickle dreams;
Illusory doors to an elusive world.
Oh! My Saviour, My Darkly Sage!
Save me from the crimson rays of reality,
Bent on burning me
With its fearsome visage;
For I come alive only in your brevity.
