I WILL NOT
I will not
Cower behind my trepidations born of caution
I will not
Be diluted by tones of patriarchy
I will not
Let my inhibitions hollow me out
I will not
Fit into a mould or be one for others
I will not.
Become invisible
I will
Remain a black Inkspot against white,
A Red Bindi on a vacant forehead,
Charcoal eyes that bare it all,
Crimson lips that defy norms,
Blue highlights in curly hair,
A shrill voice cutting like a knife
Through layers of expectations.
No, I will not
Die whimpering in the eye of the storm
But I will go with a sonorous bang
Yelling, Clawing, Scratching
Screaming through the curtains of time.
Battling the weilder of divine game plans
And the brick-layer of societies stagnant norms
I will not Bow Down
I will not Cower
For I am more than my grief
I am more than my failures
I am more than my victories
I am more than my rebellions
I am more than your assumptions
I am more than white garbs of innocence
Or red balls of lust
I am more than all that your words can describe or mine
I am more than my story
I am fashioned by a million hands
A thousand voices
I am carved into being, ceaselessly by time
Therefore, I will be
More than I am
More than I can or Should be
I will be More!
I will be a WOMAN!
