A Prayer for My Angel of Love

I dreamed for very little

Not comfort, not riches, 

Not fame, not status, 

I desired for nothing impossible

But for you

And only you

My prayer, most fervent 

My most humble request

My sole and sincere need

My only ally in a lonely world

In love, joy and sorrow

But God chose you

For deeds most noble

He took you away 

So swiftly, so cruelly

Yet with mercy

He chose you

You..my very soul

To you ,my lord I say...

I am, but human

And no one to question

Or doubt the plan 

Of the unfathomable heir, divine

But this I ask of you

What would you have me do?

Whatever it be

I will do as you will 

But, send him to stay by me

My angel of love, My hope reborn

Send him to this miserable soul
